Any J1 Participant arriving in the US through ACAWE must be insured according to the guidelines of the US State Department.

ACAWE provides our Participants with the best available insurance coverage, which exceeds the requirements of the US State Department.

All Participants are eligible and required to enroll in this Basic Health and Sickness Insurance Program (unless they can show an alternative acceptable proof of Insurance as required by the United States Department of State), except for those Participants from Israel and Australia, who must contact their local ACAWE offices directly to arrange coverage.
